REPLICATING YOUR INFLUENCE

Not long ago, I noticed that my secretary wasn’t handling tasks the way I expected. At first, I assumed the problem was with her. But then I took a step back and asked myself, What example have I been setting? How do I communicate? How do I correct? That moment changed everything.

I worked on my approach, taught her with patience, and now? She manages my work without needing constant guidance. That experience reminded me that leadership is not about control but influence. And influence starts with us.

Leadership Is Influence

We often think of leadership in terms of titles and roles. But real leadership is deeper, it’s the daily impact we have on others through our words, choices, and habits. You don’t need a platform or a pulpit to lead. You influence people simply by how you live. Every time we speak, react, or make decisions, we’re teaching others how to do the same. What we tolerate, reward, or ignore becomes the culture around us. Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly replicating ourselves in the people we lead.

The Foundation Starts with You

The way we think about leadership today shapes how we lead tomorrow. Leadership isn’t static; it evolves, as our understanding grows, so should our practice. That’s why personal growth is non-negotiable. When we grow, our team grow. When we rise, our communities rise. If we want to see transformation in others, we must first be willing to change ourselves.

Be Intentional About What You Replicate

As a leader, what you do repeatedly becomes culture. If you reward excellence, you’ll see excellence. If you ignore accountability, you’ll cultivate carelessness. Be intentional about the kind of atmosphere you want to create.

Don’t tolerate what you cannot sustain, and don’t reward what you don’t want repeated.

Leadership is not about perfection. It’s about consistency, character, and direction. Influence isn’t passive, Its purposeful.

Influence That Lasts

Leadership is not just about what you do; it’s about who you are. Your influence goes beyond assignments, it shapes attitudes, decisions, and futures. So, ask yourself, what version of me am I replicating? Whether you know it or not, you’re already leading someone. The question is, are you leading them well?

Lead with clarity, lead with character, and most importantly, lead with the kind of influence you’d be proud to see multiplied.
