THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF YOUR “YES”.
When God's Vision Doesn't Look Like Your Plan
It began with a whisper, a vision that looked nothing like the future I had imagined.
Like many of us, I had been praying for clarity. I wanted confirmation, open doors, and a clear sense of direction. Instead, God gave me something unexpected: discomfort.
At first, I questioned it.
Surely this can't be God, I thought. The path ahead felt uncertain, inconvenient, and far removed from the plans I had carefully imagined. Yet I've learned that this is often how God works. His vision doesn't simply reveal a destination; it transforms the person who receives it.
Divine vision stretches us before it sends us.
Vision Begins with Intimacy
One of the greatest lessons I've learned is that vision isn't born from ambition. It grows out of intimacy with God. There
were seasons when I prayed and heard no immediate answers. I wanted certainty, but God invited me into consistency instead. In those quiet moments, I discovered that His silence wasn't His absence.
He was teaching me to trust His character before He revealed His direction. The more I sought Him, the more clearly, I recognized His voice.
Vision isn't merely about discovering what God wants you to do. It's about becoming the kind of person who can faithfully carry what He entrusts to you.
Write What God Reveals
As clarity began to come, I sensed the Holy Spirit prompting me with a simple instruction: "Write it down."
That reminder echoed the words of Habakkuk 2:2, where God tells the prophet to write the vision and make it plain.
So I began journaling.
Every Scripture that stood out. Every quiet prompting. Every lesson learned in prayer. At the time, they seemed like scattered thoughts. Looking back, I can see that God was building a roadmap, preparing me for seasons I hadn't yet entered.
Sometimes obedience begins with something as simple as writing down what God is saying.
Faithfulness Creates a Ripple Effect
What surprised me most was realizing that my obedience was never just about me. As
I continued saying "yes" to God, I began watching Him use my journey to encourage others. Conversations opened. Worship teams found renewed purpose.
Creative leaders discovered fresh courage. People I had never planned to influence were strengthened simply because I chose to remain faithful. That's when I realized that vision was never about personal success.
God wasn't inviting me to pursue visibility. He was inviting me to practice faithfulness.
The Kingdom often advances through ordinary acts of obedience that produce extraordinary fruit over time.
Your Yes Matters
We often measure success by what people can see. God measures faithfulness by what is surrendered.
He doesn't ask us to accomplish impressive things for Him. He asks us to trust Him in the ordinary moments, believing that He can multiply what we place in His hands.
When we surrender our gifts, our plans, and our expectations, God uses them in ways we could never imagine. Our obedience becomes part of His greater story, often impacting lives we'll never meet this side of eternity.
If God has placed a vision in your heart that feels uncomfortable or doesn't make sense yet, don't dismiss it simply because it stretches you.
Bring it before Him. Stay close to His presence. Write down what He is speaking. Then take the next faithful step.
Because prophetic vision is never about building our platform. It is a seed planted in faith. And in God's hands, that seed grows into something far greater than we could ever accomplish on our own.
